Overview
The IDX VL-2X charges two V-mount batteries in sequence: it fills the first pack, then switches to the second automatically, in either order. Its fanless design makes it completely silent, so it can sit near set or in a quiet production office.
At about 430 g it’s light enough to live in any battery kit, and it handles both Li-ion and Ni-Cd V-mount chemistries with up to 2.7 A of quick-charge current from its built-in 36 W supply.

- Charging is sequential, so allow time for both packs — start overnight charging as soon as you wrap.
- Let hot batteries cool before charging, and keep the charger on a hard, ventilated surface even though it has no fan.
- Inspect battery contacts before mounting; never charge a swollen, wet, dropped or damaged pack.
- Remove completed batteries and cap their terminals for transport.
