Overview
Bring the shot to the people who need to see it. Pyro 7 combines a 7-inch touchscreen with a wireless transmitter and receiver, so one unit can live by the camera or move to a director’s station without changing monitoring systems. HDMI and SDI connections make it easy to fit into a compact camera build or a larger set.
When transmitting to compatible Pyro receivers, the system can share the picture with several crew positions at once. Hollyland’s dual-band frequency hopping helps find a cleaner channel, while the advertised 400 m line-of-sight range and approximately 60 ms transmission latency give the crew room to move. Broadcast mode can serve up to four receivers, with a shorter advertised range.
The monitor is more than a wireless endpoint: waveform, false colour, focus assist, LUTs and image overlay help you judge the image where it matters. An SD card can capture reference clips, and the NP-F battery plate gives you a portable power option for long takes and changing locations.

- Decide whether the unit is transmitting or receiving before wiring the camera; its HDMI and SDI ports change roles with the mode.
- Pair and test every receiving position at the actual shoot location. Walls, people and crowded wireless channels can shorten the manufacturer’s line-of-sight range.
- Use waveform or false colour for exposure and focus assist for critical focus, then confirm the image against your camera’s own recording settings.
- Mount both antennas securely, keep the monitor ventilated and start with a charged NP-F kit or a secured DC feed.
- Use SD recordings as on-set references; confirm your camera’s original media before wrap.
